Documentary photo project in collaboration with the Israeli poet, Varda Genossar in 2013

From October 2011 to January 2012, I travelled to various places in Israel. The photos that I took there show the diverse aspects of daily life in Israel. They show an intimate insight into domestic family life, street scenes, recreational activities and religious practice. From these photos you can see a women’s demonstration in Jerusalem, teenagers of a scout group in Beit Zayit, a comedy theatre production and an animal shelter in Tel Aviv.

A dialogue develops from the interplay of my photography with the poems from Varda Genossar between German and Israeli sights, a differentiated perception of a land beyond the pictures and news that is usually shown here.
